A standard mirror is clear annealed glass with silver and two layers of paint coated on the back, creating a reflective surface. It is also referred to as mirrored glass. The mirror is versatile and used in homes, cars, and businesses daily. Here is an overview of common uses for the different thicknesses we see customers purchase regularly.
Comes with a seamed edge because it's typically installed in a frame.
Comes with a ground edge to reduce sharpness.
We cut mirrors to size in our store. Whether you want to create something new or repair your broken mirror, we can help. Our skilled technicians can cut mirrors to practically any shape or size you desire. We also install a mirror into your frame or other materials for you.
Do you have a broken mirror that you would like to save or an antique one that you would like to cut down into smaller sections for your whole family to cherish? No problem! No matter the reason, we can cut your mirror down for you.
Safety backing is available for both thicknesses and is always recommended in areas of high traffic or where the possibility of breaking the mirror is greater. The safety backing is a film applied to the back of a mirror, which holds the mirror intact if it breaks. Instead of little pieces or shards of glass falling, the mirror will stay adhered to the safety backing.
There are two different options for a beveled mirror look.
A mirror that is ordered with a bevel will take a 1/4" mirror and slope the sides down to 1/8" thick. The slop can range in width from 5/8" to 1 1/2". A beveled mirror costs substantially more than a standard mirror, but it does look very elegant.
These strips can accent any style of standard mirror. They are pieces of mirror that come in 1" or 2 " width, can be stacked, and are easily applied to a mirror. There are different options available to connect the corners as well.
